Drivers have ploughed on August 17, 2017 into pedestrians in two quick-succession, separate attacks in Barcelona and another popular Spanish seaside city, leaving 14 people dead and injuring more than 100 others. In the first incident, which was claimed by the Islamic State group, a white van sped into a street packed full of tourists in central Barcelona on Thursday afternoon, knocking people out of the way and killing 13 in a scene of chaos and horror. أدانت دولة الإمارات بشدة حادثة الدهس الإرهابية التي استهدفت عددا من الأبرياء الخميس (17أغسطس2017) في جادة لاس رامبلاس السياحية في مدينة برشلونة الإسبانية ما أسفر عن سقوط عدد من الضحايا ما بين قتيل وجريح.
و أعربت وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي في بيان لها عن إستنكار دولة الإمارات وإدانتها لهذا العمل الإرهابي .. مؤكدة موقف الإمارات الثابت الرافض لمختلف أشكال العنف والإرهاب الذي يستهدف الجميع دون تمييز بين دين وعرق وأيا كان مصدره ومنطلقاته.
وشددت على وقوف الإمارات وتضامنها مع الحكومة الإسبانية في مواجهة العنف والتطرف .. داعية المجتمع الدولي إلى التكاتف لمواجهة هذه الآفة الخطيرة واجتثاثها من جذورها والتي تهدد أمن واستقرار دول العالم.
وأعربت الوزارة في ختام بيانها عن تعازي دولة الإمارات في ضحايا هذه الحادثة الإرهابية و تمنياتها الشفاء العاجل للجرحى.
